Sources
Every quote and every number on the home page, with where it came from. Every quote was read at its own source on 2026-08-27, and the outside prices below on 2026-11-05; the rest is arithmetic on those figures, or our own prices, which you can check against the pricing page in a click. Quotes link to the individual comment, not the thread, so verifying one is a click rather than a scroll.
Quotes
| ID | Where | Quote | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| S1 | §3, quote 1 | I’m the only person who writes documentation in my department… I got tired of being the only one, so I stopped doing that. | Hacker News comment, Sep 2025 |
| S1 | hero | Everyone says they will keep that random wiki page up to date. They never do. | Hacker News comment, Sep 2025 |
| S2 | §3, quote 2 | If your marketing manager needs git access and to edit a markdown file on GitHub — the chance they will document in even ideal conditions goes way down. | Hacker News comment, Feb 2024 |
Numbers
| ID | Figure | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| S3 | $65 / $12 | GitBook list pricing, billed yearly — Essential $65 per site per month, members +$12 per user per month. Essential is the plan GitBook used to call Premium. gitbook.com/pricing , checked 2026-11-05. |
| D1 | $125 a month | Derived from S3: $65 site + (5 × $12) = $125. Arithmetic, not a quoted figure. |
| D2 | $1,500 a year | Derived: $125 × 12 = $1,500. |
| D3 | another $144 | Derived: $12 × 12 = $144 — the fifth person’s cost over a year. |
| D5 | about 3× | Derived from the ladder printed beside it: $19 → $49 is 2.6×, $49 → $149 is 3.04×. “About 3×” is that larger step to one decimal place, and the flat “3×” it replaced was false by that hundredth. Solo is not a fifth step in the comparison — it is annual-only and single-person, and $39/yr against $19/mo compares a year with a month; annualized it is $39 → $139. Starter is outside it for the same reason: $9 → $39 is 4.3×, between two single-person, annual-only plans, which is why the page bounds the step “between the team plans”. |
| — | 31 December 2026 | First-party. The price-lock date: accounts created before it keep the list price they signed up at, on every paid tier, while the subscription stays active. Owner ruling of 2026-09-06. |
| — | Documarium’s own prices | First-party. $9/year, $39/year, $19, $49 and $149 a month must match the live pricing page on every tier at all times — the one claim here a visitor can check in a single click. |
| — | $3.25 a month | Derived. $39 ÷ 12 = $3.25 exactly. Solo is sold annually only (FR-085), so the monthly equivalent is stated only where the same sentence says “billed yearly” — as the pricing card does. |
| — | $0.75 a month | Derived. $9 ÷ 12 = $0.75 exactly. Starter is sold annually only. The Starter card states it with “billed yearly as $9”; the hero states it as a floor (“Publish from $0.75 a month”), which FR-085 § 5 allows since spec 081 while the card carries the label. |
| — | 30 days | First-party. The money-back guarantee: a full refund of each purchase — a first plan, a re-subscription or an upgrade, not a renewal — within 30 days of it, from the billing page. |
| — | free for as long as you keep it | First-party. A kept site that is not published yet stays free with no time limit: no plan is needed to keep or write it, and nothing removes a site for inactivity — a site is removed only after its owner asks (src/modules/identity/application/deletion.ts). Its private link serves the site until the first publish (FR-296, src/modules/identity/http/drafts.ts). |
| — | a link you can share | First-party. The link is a 256-bit random address (src/modules/identity/application/drafts.ts, defaultSecret), every answer carries noindex, nofollow, and the host’s robots.txt disallows crawling (src/modules/identity/http/drafts.ts). It shows the site’s current pages (spec 085), and the owner can replace it from the dashboard. |
| — | 100 to 500 pages, 50 to 1,500 publishes a month, 1 to 100 GB, 25 MB | First-party. Pages per site are 100 on Starter, 250 on Solo and 500 on Team, Studio and Agency; publishes a month are 50 on Starter, 150 on Solo, 250 on Team, 500 on Studio and 1,500 on Agency, shared by the account’s sites. Storage for the account, counting page text, the logo and the favicon, is 1 GB on Starter, 5 GB on Solo, 10 GB on Team, 25 GB on Studio and 100 GB on Agency, shared by the account’s sites. Uploads are up to 25 MB per file. These are the entitlements table’s values (spec 126, NFR-FUNC-001, NFR-COST-005). |
| — | 5 MB of page text a site on Free and Starter, 10 MB on Solo, Team, Studio and Agency; 200 KB a page | First-party. Page text, the words of a site’s pages, is up to 5 MB a site on Free and Starter and 10 MB on Solo, Team, Studio and Agency, and up to 200 KB on any one page. A site over its limit keeps every page and keeps publishing; only a change that adds text waits for room. These are the entitlements table’s values (spec 130). |
